EL EDEN OBTAINS THE NATURE CONSERVATION RECOGNITION 2005!

El Eden Ecological Reserve has been awarded with the Nature Conservation Recognition 2005 because of its outstanding work and contribution on priority matters such as the sustainable usage of natural resources, environmental education and the development of environmental politics. The award ceremony took place during the National Week of Conservation, which was headed by the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, Ing. José Luis Luege Tamargo.

The Nature Conservation Recognition is granted by the SEMARNAT (The Mexican Secretariat of Environment and Natural Resources) through the CONANP (Commission on Protected Areas). Its objective is to acknowledge the different individuals and organizations that are doing or that have done relevant actions of protection, management and restoration in benefit of nature conservation of the Natural Protected Areas and of the endangered species of Mexico. The jury was integrated by outstanding Mexican personalities.

By obtaining this recognition we reaffirm our commitment to research and feel encouraged to keep on working as we have done till now.

El Eden wishes to thank all the researchers and students who have done the scientific work, the staff and all the people who have collaborated and been in touch with the Reserve in some way or another during the last ten years.
